Hi there!
My late father was the one who introduced me to the world of photography. My first impressions on photography were uncool, vintage, and “only for old people”. You see, back then the camera was this huge bulky heavy thing that you have to put around your neck for safety reasons. And as a high school student and teenager, I was like there’s no way I’m carrying that thing around my friends.
But my father was the adviser for the school publication and “forced” me to be part of the team (so thankful he didn’t give up on me). After much scolding and grilling the next thing I know I was learning the basics of photojournalism. To my surprise, it was very exciting to see a certain subject through the lens and focusing it on making a story.
To make the long story shorter, I joined a couple of photo contest, press conferences, etc. When I got to college, I stayed close to photography (loving it very much now), worked with professional photographers, and studied photography.
Now as a mother, as a passionate, trying hard photographer, I want to maintain this flame burning through helping others and at the same time earn a few extra bucks. 🙂
